Spiritual Growth and Inner Healing-The Next Step Program

It was May, 1981. We attended a Healing Conference in Pecos/Glorietta, New Mexico. Shocking news! Holy Father, Pope John Paul II was shot! Days of personal emotions, earnest prayer and NEW GIFTS emerged with a great outpouring of the heavens! A month later on June 24, 1981, Our Holy Mother began appearing to children in Medjugorje and She continues for these thirty (30) years. Our personal gift was the discovery of the School for Spiritual Growth and Inner Healing, authored by Rev. James Wheeler, SJ, in attendance at that conference! In September of 1981, we began the first Semester and it provided the foundation of the Mercy of God Center Inner Healing Ministries! After thirty (30) years, the program has been updated with a new name, "The Next Step Program" (and yes, it has 28 steps!) The program is for those who have had an "awakening experience" of their faith through the many anointed programs offered by our Catholic Church. CHRP, Charismatic Renewal, Cursillo, ACTS, etc. Based on Ignatian Spirituality, the program is focused on the desire to enter deeper into the heart of Jesus through the Scriptures. "It is a pathway to deeper prayer, good decisions guided by keen discernment, and an active life of service to others."

The process is not one of "information" but one of "transformation". It is a vehicle to recognize and effectively deal with the blockages, wounded relationships, or internal paralysis which inhibit spiritual growth and prevent us from living abundant lives.
