We will host a new English SGIH Scripture-based course beginning in January 2025. There will be a kick-off retreat on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at MOGPC. Two offerings are planned with 9-12 per class. One will meet on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and one will meet on Tuesday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Tuesday sessions will begin January 14, 2025 and continue on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. The Friday sessions will begin January 24, 2025, and continue on 2nd and 4th Fridays. Upon registering, you will be asked which day you can attend or preferences if you are available either day. Offerings will be limited to just Tuesday or just Friday if needed, depending on registration. The donation for the SGIH classes is $140 per semester, or lesser for those who require financial assistance or have spouse attending.
Based on Ignatian Spirituality, the program is focused on the desire to enter deeper into the heart of Jesus through the Scriptures. "It is a pathway to deeper prayer, good decisions guided by keen discernment, and an active life of service to others."
This 28-step program over four semesters (Years 1 and 2 with 7 classes per semester and a day retreat to begin each year) is for those who are currently walking with the Lord or have had an "awakening experience" of their faith through the many anointed programs offered by our Catholic Church (CRHP, Charismatic Renewal, Cursillo, ACTS, etc.)
The process is not one of "information" but one of "transformation". It is a vehicle to recognize and effectively deal with the blockages, wounded relationships, or internal paralysis which inhibit spiritual growth and prevent us from living abundant lives.
The Mercy of God Prayer Center is expanding Spiritual Growth and Inner Healing to reach more communities and audiences. Our aim is to bring our programs to other parishes, offer continuing education for clergy, and extend our outreach to prisons, jails, reentry programs, and formerly homeless individuals. These programs are designed to be adaptable, either as self-led groups or facilitated by SGIH alumni.
The SGIH program meets twice a month, offering seven sessions in the fall, each possibly culminating with a small group retreat. This is followed by a Spring large group retreat and seven-session spring program, possibly ending with a small group day retreat. We take a break during the summer to refresh and start with a large group retreat the next season.
Through this structure, we hope to provide enriching experiences for those seeking spiritual growth, healing, and community. Whether you're interested in joining or learning more about our outreach initiatives, we invite you to connect with us and become a part of our mission to spread healing and hope.
For more information about our programs, events, and prayer sessions, prayer intentions, or if you have any questions, please contact us. We are here to support and serve you as you grow in faith and deepen your spiritual journey.

MORE DETAIL
Feeling called to help others heal from life’s wounds by the power of the Holy Spirit? Come explore the roots of that call in Scripture and Church teaching, and in your heart; receive that healing, and feed and deepen that call in silence. Learn the rubrics of healing prayer and the roles of intercessor and facilitator; then practice those roles as you prepare possibly for serving as a healing prayer minister.
Training will help participants grow in understanding and skill, in presence and surrender, and in intention and receptivity. A pre- and post- training retreat will begin and end our journey into healing and foundational elements of ministry and start you practicing being led by the Spirit.
